Dear Mama

Dear Mama,

You have spent hours, days, weeks, months, and even years in private, loving and caring for your babies. You have been at the end of yourself more times than you can count. You have done so many things you never saw yourself doing, extending yourself beyond the strength you knew you had.

And through it all, you have loved more deeply than you ever thought you

could, been stretched and tested, and you have always been enough. Your children have no idea how extraordinary you really are, and sometimes you have forgotten that about yourself.

You have given and nurtured life. You have danced and sung your way through the daily mundane tasks of sacrificial love. You have cried over your sleeping children, knowing that you are more blessed than anyone to be their Mother.

Thank you for everything you do.

But Mama, there’s more to you than perhaps even you realize. You are the ultimate creative. You might have grown a human or two or five inside of you. You’re a bedtime songwriter, poet, chef, household CEO, wizard, entertainer, clown, doctor and nurse. Maybe you do some of these things professionally too.

You have dreams, ideas and are a visionary. And you know what? You are raising children, so that means you can do ANYTHING. Everything after doing that is easy peasy!

Mama, you are amazing. x, Jessica

Jessica's "Dear Mama" letter was written for attendees of her (M)OTHER album launch party and celebrates the dynamic role of mothers everywhere.
